On February 20, 2013, Marino announced publicly that she no longer has the drive to play tennis, and is therefore quitting the sport to focus on living a normal life. That includes getting a job and going back to school, news media report. Marino stated that she has been struggling with depression for over 6 years, and the rigorousness of the sport has caused her to take a break.

She is the co-owner of all the SPiN table tennis clubs, and the franchise seems to be popping up all over North America. There is one in New York, California, Los Angeles, Milwaukee and Toronto. Anyhow, Susan has recently appeared on Project Runaway, as a guest judge, and also to ask the contestants to design the uniforms for her staff at SPiN table tennis clubs.

JUNIOR SEAU HAD CTE-BRAIN DISEASE

According to the Boston Globe, former New England Patriot Pro Bowl linebacker and icon Tiaina Baul "Junior" Seau was found with a gunshot wound to the chest at his California home on May 2, 2012. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. The medical examiner concluded he died from an apparent suicide. According the Associated Press, the National Institute of Health studied three unidentified brains, one of which was Seau's, and found his brain abnormalities was similar to those of people "with exposure to repetitive head injuries."

YOUNG PING PONG PHENOM MISSED TABLE TENNIS FINALS DUE TO RELIGION

Estee Ackerman, is an American ping pong phenom, who is eleven years old. She forfeited her match at the U.S. National Table Tennis Championship, due to religious beliefs. The match was being held on December 21, 2012, in Las Vegas. However, Estee did not take part in the finale because; the match fell on her Sabbath, which is a Jewish holy day of rest. According to the New York Post, Estee is a rising star, and rank fourth in the age group 8 to11 in table tennis.

On December 1, 2012, 25-year-old American football (NFL) linebacker Jovan Belcher killed his girlfriend, then drove to the team's practice facility, and committed suicide in front of his head coach. He left behind his 3-month-old daughter.
